The B-25 Mitchell is most famously known for its use in Lieutenant Colonel James “Jimmy” Doolittle’s daylight raid on Tokyo on April 18, 1942. “Jimmy” Doolittle led the attack of 16 B-25s from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet CV-8 to strike the Japanese homeland for the first time in WWII.
